We worked with Buddy Chicago, an artist hub and shop located in the Chicago Cultural Center, to create messaging and signage. Buddy seeks to provide visibility and opportunities to artists across the Chicagoland area through exhibitions, talks, workshops, performances, readings, and a retail space. With all that Buddy is and does it was a challenge to nail down messaging that covers it all without sounding convoluted, something they mentioned was a hurdle in the past. With this in mind we focused instead on driving visitors to the shop where they could then learn more about about what Buddy has. From there the layouts unfolded nicely thanks to the compelling visual language that Buddy has been using since its inception for outdoor and digital signage.
