Artifical Animation, 2022
An animation generated during a Motion Design class demonstration on ways in which students could use burgeoning technology like artificial intelligence alongside older tech like stop motion animation to create something completely new. This animation was generated from a few stop motion inputs (houses moving along the horizon, a walking figure, clouds moving in the sky, etc) that were fed into Deforum along with matching masks, and then finally stitched back together with audio and a few other effects. In each instance the strength of the diffusion was set no higher than 50% so that each output is half my stop motion input and half AI generated leading to additional questions of authorship beyond that which we see happening at large. An earlier demo is included below as a point of reference.
